Evaluate and Calculate Investment Viability, Risk and Returns

Background

Veda Research was established in 2007 for the purposes of providing financial and investment advisory services. Key areas that have been covered for clients have included investments in the financial, power, renewables, transportation, manufacturing and hospitality sectors.

Veda Research will cover investigations, reviews and analyses at various levels, permitting clients to assess investment opportunities prior to making commitments. Studies can be carried out in phases up to the level of detailed feasibility studies and business plans.

Hotel Investment Evaluation and Offer Process

The key will be to calculate offers, prepare tenders, and consider participation in potential investments. In many cases a key consideration will be to evaluate project and country specific investment incentives, assess risks and determine returns.

Veda Research will also offer support after participation in providing oversight and management support. Clients often require an active oversight and supervisory role until exit.

Activities

Studies have been conducted in a wide range of investment opportunities. In many cases country, sector and subject specialists have been appointed into teams to evaluate client specific objectives.

Utilities have always been of interest. This includes integrated water resources management incorporating hydro power generation, flood mitigation and water supply. Recently waste water recovery has been the subject of competitive tenders.

Veda Research has evaluated conventional power projects firing gas, liquid or coal fuel. The move to meet higher environmental standards has promoted the potential of synthetic fuel production from low calorific value coals, which permits clean combustion in conventional thermal plant.

Veda Research has carried out investigations in the petrochemical sector. The potential of refinery upgrades to generate higher value products and improve refining margins is of interest to refineries who must cope with rising demand, higher operating costs and aging plant.

Veda Research also provides public relations support for clients who wish to participate in new sectors or projects or intend to enter new markets.

Thermal Unit Heat Efficiency Analysis

Veda Research is currently evaluating the potential of investment in agricultural based renewables. The focus is on optimising the economic potential of small holdings. Food related production is of primary concern. However, the waste stream can be profitably utilised to elevate incomes.

Sugar and coconut have proven to be viable with the capacity to provide multiple revenue streams and at the same time competitive power generation. Incentives are available in the form of agricultural grants, preferential tariffs and flexible financing.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing is expected to be a rapid growth sector over the next decade. The continuous pressure to meet higher environmental and safety standards, maintain competitive pricing and still generate high margins, has made consumer product manufacturing an intense design and engineering sector.

There is an accelerated interest in automation and robotics, the use of locally hosted enterprise models to maximise utilisation of capital plant, and embedding propriety intellectual assets in modern design and engineering tools. Veda Research is currently investigating the application of open source locally hosted tools to be integrated with in-house data into an agglomerating searchable vector database.

An interesting sector being investigated is the electrical components sector for the household, commercial and light industrial markets. With the projected growth of the middle class in many countries, it is expected that electrical components for the consumer and power distribution markets will experience solid growth over the next decade. The advent of 3D printing technology has advanced the possibility of just-in-time micro manufacturing.

A major product being reviewed is the composite LPG gas cylinder for the household and recreation markets. Safety, durability, portability and environmental compliance standards are expected to make composites price competitive. Manufacturing processes are being currently reviewed to improve production efficiency and lower costs.

LPG Cylinder Manufacturing Company Business Plan Overview

The need to meet competitive price targets has required an assessment of locating in the right markets not only where there is sufficient product demand, but also where production costs are reasonable. The availability of raw materials and skilled human resources is taken into account. Many countries promote manufacturing investment and offer substantial incentives.

Veda Research also reviews the flexibility of meeting demand in neighboring export markets which makes it necessary to evaluate the impact of applicable Free Trade Agreements.

Veda Research offers advisory services that cover these issues.

Funding

Specialist investors may wish to establish a special purpose fund as their investment vehicle where they may be interested in a specific geographical area, type of investment or investment structure.

Mudaraba Structure for Hotel Acquisition

Clients may wish to invest in a country or currency in which they have special interest, a class of investments in which they have developed expertise and experience, or require an investment structure that suits their particular needs.

Veda Research has looked at the potential of investments that match the needs of such investors and assists in establishing an investment model and structure that accommodates the selected investment and matches client requirements.

Leveraged Lease Structure

In many cases country specific circumstances, rules and regulations have to be investigated with local specialists especially with reference to investment incentives, currency rules and investment protection.

Recent References

Veda Research recently carried out an investigation to integrate a solar power generation facility with a waste water recovery plant. In this way the available insolation level could be optimised to maximise water recovery. Two revenue streams could be realised.

Veda Research has also undertaken a review of investment in the premium hospitality sector and potential structures. Angel financing a private hospitality REIT was suggested and potential acquisitions in the premium sector were evaluated.

Veda Research, upon request, will provide generic summaries of typical reviews that have been undertaken. Visitors can contact us for additional information.
